Since we started in 2009, we’ve captured parent carer voices through

  • Spotlight events (these are information sessions for our families on a range of topics)
  • Our annual SEND survey.
  • Parent volunteers who sit on strategic meetings and represent the wider parent carer community.
  • School coffee morning led by Adele (Engagement Manager).
  • EHCP workshops (previously carried out by Julie who is the PFBA Manager) but are on pause as we focus on other areas work.
  • SEND Marketplace events where we meet families and hear about the issues they’re facing.
  • Facilitating the Parent Carer Network (PCN) made up of 14 local SEND organisations and groups that support SEND families in Bradford.
  • Having a slot at the Local Area SEND Strategic Partnership Board (LASSPB), which is the highest SEND strategic board in Bradford. Julie feeds back issues our families are facing and updates the board with what’s going well and areas of improvement.

We’d also like to hear directly from parent carers on their individual experiences!

If you’d like your story to be shared on our social media and through our newsletter, we can do this either anonymously or by name (only if you agree, this is optional).
